The early morning sun modeled the shapes of this old barn nicely enough to catch my attention. The farmer was out in his yard, and I asked if it would be okay to shoot. He seemed a little surprised that I wanted to photograph the dilapidated old structure, but said to go ahead. When I was finished, he said, "You know, I got me one of the little digital cameras. You can see what you got right away."
Homer Fitts has been a major part of downtown Barre, Vermont for 120 years. Early this year, they announced they were closing their doors for the last time. The front of the buiding was plastered with signs offering the fixtures for sale. That wasn't how I wanted to remember them, so I shot the back side of the building.
